Sunscreen
Your makeup might have some built-in SPF, but if you find yourself outside more than anticipated (even on a cloudy day), you’ll want to apply true sunscreen to avoid painful burns and irreversible skin damage. Carry sunscreen formulated for your face, but don’t be afraid to use it on any exposed skin.
Eye Drops
As with some other parts of your body, your eyes are susceptible to getting dehydrated, strained, or compromised by dust and germs. Keep eye drops on hand to relieve redness or irritation. Rubbing your eyes will just make matters worse, exacerbating the problem.
Hand Sanitizer
Because you won’t always have access to soap and water, carry sanitizer with you. Your hands are a germ vector, capable of transmitting harmful dirt and germs into your eyes, your food, and unexpected cuts and scrapes.
Hydrocortisone Cream
Nothing ruins an outing like a painful or itchy insect bite. And since you often can’t see the little buggers, it’s best to, as Boy Scouts say, be prepared.
Aspirin
Headaches and joint pain can put the crush on any good day. So carry aspirin with you. In addition to aspirin’s ability to reduce inflammation and pain, experts recommend chewing two tablets at the first sign of heart attack.
